If the "double-click" option is not working for you, change your icon manually by right mouse clicking on it and choose the option to "save picture" or "save picture as," Then follow the steps below:
1. Open AOL IM.
2. Click "MY AIM."
3. Click "Edit Preferences."
4. Click "Buddy Icon."
5. Click the "Browse PC" button.
6. Find the icon on your computer and select it. That icon will now appear when you receive IMs from your buddy.
